About the Role
Hunter Engineering is seeking an accomplished Senior Engineer (P.E.) to lead complex civil engineering projects from concept through construction. This position offers technical leadership opportunities and the ability to shape significant infrastructure and land development projects across multiple markets.
Responsibilities
- Seal and approve engineering designs, calculations, and reports
- Lead design and engineering efforts for commercial, industrial, and residential projects
- Manage all phases of project delivery including planning, design, permitting, and construction administration
- Perform complex hydraulic/hydrologic modeling for stormwater management
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
- Serve as primary client contact and manage client relationships
- Business development and client retention
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, and surveyors
- Navigate regulatory approval processes and represent projects before agencies
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program required
- Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- 4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Proven expertise in site development, grading, drainage, and utility design
- Strong knowledge of local and state design standards and regulations
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and engineering analysis software
- Excellent project management and leadership abilities
- Strong client communication and business development skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-state P.E. licensure
- Experience with large-scale mixed-use developments
- Advanced knowledge of stormwater management and hydrology
- CFM or LEED AP certification
- Experience managing teams of 5+ engineers
