About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Staff Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our civil engineering team. This position provides excellent mentorship and diverse project experience to support your professional development and progression toward P.E. licensure.
Responsibilities
- Design streets, utilities, and stormwater systems per local and state standards
- Run hydrology/hydraulic calculations for stormwater management
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting, grading, and earthwork calculations
- Generate submittal packages for land use applications
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents
- Conduct field visits for site verification and construction observation
- Engage with clients, agencies, and stakeholders
- Perform plan reviews for technical accuracy
- Support senior engineers throughout all project phases
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination calls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program required
- Engineer Intern (E.I.T.) certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 0-5 years of civil engineering experience (new graduates welcome)
- Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and design standards
- Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or co-op experience in civil engineering
- Familiarity with stormwater management principles
- Knowledge of local agency design standards
- Experience with HydroCAD, StormCAD, or similar analysis software
