About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Survey Office Technician to join our surveying team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our field survey crews and project delivery through technical office support, data processing, and CAD drafting.
Responsibilities
- Process and analyze survey data collected from field crews using survey processing software
- Collect elevation and terrain data processing for topographic maps
- Prepare survey plats, legal descriptions, records of surveys, and subdivision maps
- Prepare survey drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Maintain survey records, project documentation, and file land court documents
- Perform quality control checks on survey calculations and deliverables
- Coordinate with field crews and project managers
- Assist with research of property records and land title documents
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in survey office operations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey processing software (Trimble Business Center or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Understanding of surveying principles, legal descriptions, and boundary law
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with boundary and ALTA surveys
- Knowledge of state-specific surveying regulations
- Familiarity with GIS software
- Experience with Trimble, Leica, or similar survey equipment data processing
